1. How much does it cost ?
£130 annually ... Feature Listings appear on the main page, they cost £25 & £50 PCM.
2. What do I get ?
Your business listed, your website link, map, description & contact information.
3. What is the term length ?
12 Months, it works the same way as a printed book, listings renew 1st September annually.
4. How do I use Yorkshire Local ?
Click your area / town, then the first letter of what you are looking for, then click
the sub-category. Listings are alphabetized according to TYPE of business. not
business name.
5. How do I get Listed ?
Click 'ADD YOUR LISTING' in the top menu, submit your details.
You will be paying by PayPal, and need to put a link to us, on your website.
The link must appear, and be visible to users before your listing can be added.
6. Do you only list businesses ?
No, we can list personal sites too, including MySpace Blogs, eBay Shops etc These are
free listings and appear on their own page. Again, the reciprocal link rule applies.
7. What else do you list ?
In the future we plan to add Personals, Announcements, Free Ads, and
a Public Notices Page.
8. Why is it so affordable ?
It's the web, no overheads aside from hosting and maintenance, why pay others more ?
9. What happens after 12 months ?
12 Months will end on September 1st every year. You will have until 1st October to renew your
listing via PayPal, or your account lapses, and your space becomes available for
someone else to take.
10. Who do I pay ?
The PayPal button will say 'Lust4Design' - this is because they administer the site.
11. Can I call you to place the advert ?
No, this is purely a web based service, there is no call centre, but you can feel

12. Is there support if I want to change my listing ?
Simply email us with the changes, we will contact you using your listing information to
verify the change before we make it.
13. What about graphics ?
Graphics take up a lot of bandwidth, and take time to load in slowing down the page, so
Yorkshire Local is mainly text based (very fast), aside from the featured listing.
14. Aren't there already other directories ?
Yes, and the more inbound links you have pointing to your website, the better.
15. Is there anything you won't list ?
Yes, we reserve the right to refuse listings without explanation. Typically refusal means when
we reviewed your site, we found something either distasteful, or offensive by definition of
english law. This includes profanity, racism, sexual content, abuse, inappropriate
text or images, piracy links, NZB or Torrent site links or anything relating to theft or infringement
of intellectual property. If such content appears on your site throughout your time with us,
we reserve the right to 'review' your account status. There are no pro-rata refunds
following removal.
16. Why aren't you on the 1st page of Google then ?
Like you, we will be relying on you linking to us, to push us up the Google rankings, if we
all help each other, we will all benefit by it in the long term.
17. What method of Payment do you accept ?
Credit Cards via online merchant PayPal.
18. Why isn't my town listed ?
We have only concentrated on listing the major towns and cities for now. If there is enough
interest (10 businesses) from one area, it will be added, and those 10 businesses
approached for listings. We must have 10 confirmed listings to add an area, once
again you can email us your details and pass the site URL around your B2B partners.
19. Free Listings ?
Yes, Listings are FREE until September 1st 2008, at which time you will be asked to pay for
a full years listing. Existing members who pass us 10 or more referals, who also signup to
12 months, get their next year free. Sites designed by Lust4Design are listed free.
Non-Profit sites, sponsorship requests and ebay shops are also listed free of charge.
20. Why can't I click my town ?
No listings exist in that town or area yet, but you could try the Regional coverage page.
21. Can I list in different category's ?
Yes, for now, but you will need to pay for each listing separately, each at the normal price.
We may need to revise this policy in the future if space becomes limited to allow others
to place their ads.
22. How will you advertise ?
Initially word of mouth. Part of the service is business helping their customers as well as
each other. Shop fronts should put a sign in their window, or somewhere it can be seen
telling people they are listed in Yorkshire Local.co.uk. That way, people know to use it.
In addition we will rely on B2B contacts where people pass on the good news that good
value advertising is available. When businesses pass us 10 other businesses that buy
a listing, they get their next year FREE (19). Incentive indeed. Later on we will spread to
newspaper articles, and later on again, television spots.
All businesses, deal with other businesses !! So we expect the word will spread quickly.
We don't like the idea of small companies getting fleeced by expensive advertising, just
for trying to get the word out about their new business. So this is a simple, affordable,
flat rate, no frills service, designed to help Google find and list their websites, and let
their websites begin to get customers. This only works if we link to each other.
